The approach of the BioSPRINT project is based on the development and validation of innovative processing technologies for upstream purification, catalytic conversion / reaction, downstream purification of HMC and production of biorenewable resins. Scientific activities cover detailed analysis of the industrial streams selected for validation as well as literature research on state of the art technologies currently applied in the four application areas of the BioSPRINT processing technologies, as well as in-depth development and tests in lab and pilot-scale validation environments to reach TRL 4-5. Other scientific activities cover the legal, safety, standardisation part such as existing norms, laws or obstacles to overcome when thinking ahead of the project time.
